( ) Dean’s Peer Tutoring Program (https://www.wesleyan.edu/sar/tutoring/index.html)
Peer tutors provide supplementary course-content instruction for students who request them. Tutoring is provided in small groups of up to three students with a tutor. Additionally, students can form their own group of up to three students and submit their requests for the group to work with a tutor. Follow the link for information on requesting tutoring.
( ) Group Math and Science Tutoring
Not all tutoring happens in one-on-one or small group scenarios. Additionally, we have group help for math and science issues in the following programs:
- STEM ZONE (BIOL 173, BIOL 181, CHEM141, CHEM 143, CHEM 251, PHYS 111, PHYS 113 and PSYC 222). STEM Zone is located in the Science Library and is a space where students currently taking introductory science courses can receive academic support. Students can get help from course teaching assistants, course instructors, peer advisors, and fellow students.
- MATH JAMS This is an additional resource for students taking introductory math classes that is intended to complement the Math Workshop, CA sessions, or a professor’s office hours. Tutors are knowledgeable in the standard math calculus sequence but are also able to assist with the “mathy” aspects of introductory courses in Economic, Physics, QAC, and Computer Science.
- The hours and location for Math Jam for this semester are Tuesdays 6 – 9 pm in the Woodhead Lounge (Exley 184).
- THE MATH WORKSHOP Need help with Math? This is the place to go. The staff members on duty are either experienced undergraduates or math graduate students. The staff offers a drop-in tutoring service, available to all members of the Wesleyan community. Staff members provide a friendly, relaxed atmosphere while answering questions about mathematics.
