Learn about Global Engagement at and Beyond Wes – Wed 4/23 at 6pm
Wednesday April 23 at 6-7pm in Fisk 201C or on Zoom — Register on WesNest to help us get a head count for food! (Or join on Zoom.)
First-year students: Join us for a Zoom visit from current Thomas J. Watson Fellow Dylan Campos ’24! Dylan majored in History and Environmental Studies at Wesleyan and completed the Global Engagement Minor (GEM), a minor that allows Wesleyan students to explore their academic interests, extracurricular activities, and language skills while learning how to navigate the world through a lens of cultural self-awareness. Students apply to the Global Engagement Minor in the spring of first-year, so this is a great chance to learn about what you can do with the minor in the longer term!
The Thomas J. Watson Fellowship allows Wesleyan seniors of any citizenship and any major to propose a 12-month international project to pursue after graduation. Dylan’s project explores how people in urban and peri-urban environments use agriculture to mobilize social power, organize, and address food insecurity.
Join us to learn more about Dylan’s project and how you can forge your own international path as a Watson Fellow! Students work on their applications during the summer before their senior year, but it’s never too early to learn about the Watson and it’s great timing to learn more about the Global Engagement Minor.
Presented by the Office of Fellowships, Fries Center for Global Studies. Questions? Contact fellowships@wesleyan.edu.
