I hope the first couple of weeks at Wesleyan are proving exciting, challenging, and rewarding. Remember to give it time and do your best to keep a productive schedule without overdoing it.
Below are important reminders for this week and for the rest of the semester. Please make note of these dates in your planners/calendars. Please also consult the Academic Calendar here.
DEADLINES
1. FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13: Last day to DROP/ADD.
a. Your classes need to be settled by this Friday at the close of business.
b. Classes will not appear on your transcript when dropped by this date.
2. FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11: Last day to Withdraw from 1st quarter classes.
a. Any first quarter class withdrawn by this date will show a “W” on the transcript.
b. On Friday, October 18, 1st quarter classes end.
3. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 19: Grading Mode Change Deadline.
a. If a course has a “student option” grading mode, cross listing(s), or two GenEd areas, you may choose the preferred option through the Drop/Add system. Use the drop-down selection in your schedule of classes in WesPortal.
b. If a drop-down menu does not appear in the cross listing, grading mode, or GenEd column, this means that the course does not have options to adjust this data
4. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 26: Last day to Withdraw from semester long classes and 2nd quarter classes.
a. Any classes for the full semester or 2nd quarter withdrawn by this date will show a “W” on the transcript.
b. No course withdraws beyond this date.
4. Last Day of Classes is Friday, December 6.
5. Exams run from Wednesday, December 11 through Saturday, December 14.
BREAKS & END OF THE SEMESTER
• FALL BREAK: Saturday, October 19 – Tuesday, October 22. (no classes)
• THANKSGIVING BREAK: Wednesday, November 27 – Saturday, November 30. (no classes)
• Classes resume Monday, December 2.
• Check with your professors about who may cancel classes the week of Thanksgiving. You may be able to travel home earlier in the week that the actual schedule states.
HOUSING DATES
• Housing CLOSES at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 15. You are not allowed to stay longer than that day. You can move out earlier as your exams are completed. Please make travel plans accordingly.
• Housing OPENS at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2025. You are not allowed to move in before this date. Please make travel plans accordingly.
• Class begin Thursday, January 23, 2025.
